The NexusForum has been Relocated!

Over the last two years, the NexusForum became the crossroads of the Heinlein community. As other forums and discussion sites withered or disappeared, the user base here grew and became more active. That success is one of the proudest achievements of the Nexus effort.

The story, however, is just beginning. With the reformation of The Heinlein Society (and you may use either or both definitions of "reformation" there), it is time for the community to have a single strong online location, and, in time, a single strong organization to shepherd the many efforts surrounding Robert Heinlein's legacy. We've served our term as guardians of the flame while the lights burned lower and lower everywhere else. The new THS, with a board of directors composed of some of the best members of the Heinlein community, is ready to retake that guardianship, and deserves 100% support from the community.

Our gift to the new THS and the community is the NexusForum... lock, stock, users, topics, database and both smoking barrels of discourse. It is being handed over as a gesture of healing and commitment, for the THS board and management to do with as they see fit. For the record, there are no hard feelings involved on either side. No back-room pressure; nothing that hasn't been discussed openly in the forum itself. This change is a genuine vote of confidence in THS and the ability of the community to come together... because Robert Heinlein and his legacies are bigger and more important than any one of us, than any differences of opinion about "how" and "when," and certainly bigger than anyone who chose to block progress rather than enable it.
